Why do people move? [infographic]

This infographic shows data from 2009-2010 about why people moved. It shows that people moved for the following reasons: Job change, a better home, a more affordable home, family changes, and just American mobility. It shows that the number of people who move for a better home is on the decline, but the number of people who move to more affordable homes is on the rise. The “American Mobility” section shows that metropolitan population is on the decline, while the number of those who choose the suburbs is going up. It also displays the top 10 state-to-state moves in 2010. 6.7 million people moved to a different state. California to Texas is number one, New York to Florida is number two, and Florida go Georgia is number three. The data was taken from the U.S. Census Bureau and the National Association of Realtors.
